Sewing schools
To help young people gain skills which can generate income, ConnectSwiss has sponsored 2 sewing schools which offer free training to 10 students each. One school is in Bunyore at the Youth Centre and the other one is in Teso in premises offered by the community. Students are encouraged to take the government trade test which gives them a nationally recognised certificate at the end of the course.

To keep costs down while training the students, students use old maize sacks and paper bags to learn how to make school uniforms and other items of clothing.
